William Shane Anderson, a thirty-nine year-old resident of Middletown, Delaware, was sentenced to one year of probation after pleading guilty to conducting a non-state-sanctioned gambling game and state income tax evasion. Local police arrested Mr. Anderson in February 2008 after they received complaints from neighbors about the numerous vehicles parked near his residence

A federal appeals court ruled this week that the 2006 Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act does not threaten the privacy rights of online gamblers, nor is it too vague to comply with the US Constitution. The ruling denies the claim of the Interactive Media Entertainment & Gaming Association, a group representing the online gaming industry, that the law is unclear and unenforceable. read more
