Since the beginning of the game, the crowds surrounding poker tables have had a decisive male majority. Of course anyone that’s familiar with the modern poker scene recognizes the faces and names of lethal lady pros like Annie Duke or Jennifer Harman. Still, despite the millions of dollars female pros have been raking in they remain remarkable to the general public not because of their excellence but because of their gender.

Day 4 saw 648 players reach one of the most desired goals in a player’s career: a money finish at the World Series of Poker. Young unknown player Matt Affleck leads the field with over 1.8 million in chips. Day 3 chip leader Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier is in sixteenth place at the end of Day 4 with 1.25 million, while multiple bracelet winner Phil Ivey is just ahead of him in fifteenth place with 1.276 million.

Out of the nearly 6,500 players who started on this long, exciting and frustrating journey, only 64 were left at the end of Day 6. While these players represent the top one percent of all finishers in this year’s event, they each have a long way to go before they can make the final table and the November Nine.

Professional poker player Phil Ivey has so far won two championship bracelets at this year’s World Series of Poker, bringing his number of career titles up to seven. His wins in the US$2,500 buy-in No-Limit 2-7 Draw Lowball tournament earned him just over US$96,000. Less than a week later, he earned another title in the US$2,500 buy-in Omaha Hi/Lo / 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo tournament, along with over US$220,000
